RICHARD MATTHEWS
The mark of a great artist is the ability to push the envelope. Take some of the old and mix it with their version of the new. Richards is one of those artists, who combine experience, memory, and the environment in order to create his poignant colour field artwork. Centered around patterns, shapes, and the interaction of colours he utilises acrylics and pigments on small to medium-sized canvases. Painting at a quick pace yet with a conscious and measured approach results in compositions that convey different moods and a sense of intimacy.
